Dear Eric,
 
The Church has not declared a position on the alleged apparitions at
Bayside.  The woman Veronica who claims to see Our Lady is, however,
in open disobedience to her bishop, I have read.
 
Personally, I think the whole business is illusion.  It certainly is
frantic.
 
Mary is supposed to have produced reams of poetry (in English!), which
I have read.  It is sheer tripe, not worth as much as an F from any
competent English teacher.  Now we know from St. Luke 1:46-55 that Mary
had a considerable poetic gift.  If the Bayside poems are authentic, I
would guess Our Lady has not kept in practice.
 
But as I say, the Church has no position on Bayside as yet.
