From WALBORN@stsci.eduMon Oct 6 11:34:01 1997 Date: Thu, 02 Oct 1997 14:22:29 -0500 (EST) From: WALBORN@stsci.edu To: idh@star.ucl.ac.uk Cc: rbarba@stsci.edu Subject: MS Revisions Hi. I've been through the revised MS and Discussion with the following results. I see these proceedings will be in English English ("centred"), which is fine with me if the ASP will buy it! However, you should then also change it in the figure captions for consistency. Maybe do a global replace. I was surprised by the single quotes--is that also British usage? Over here that would be incorrect--singles are used only when nested inside doubles--but again, okay with me if that's the volume style and ASP accepts it. The only thing I changed in the text was to strike the Rubio et al. year 5 lines from the bottom of p. 2, for consistency with the Walborn & Blades in the next line, where you also omitted the years. In the references, I added Deidre's second initial and commas after the Hunter et al.'s, for consistency with your style. Also corrected a comma for period after the journal name in the Probst. More seriously, I deleted the coauthors in the Heap and the Hyland for consistency, since I adopted the convention of giving first author only if more than two, for brevity and speed. Do you know for a fact that the Heap will be submitted to ApJ? I made a number of improvements to the Discussion, which I think for the most part preserve the original flavor while making it more useful. Some of the additions I think I actually said, not of course the references, but I think they are more helpful than the anonymous "Mexican group", which in fact includes a French component. I'm pleased by the overall result. Clearly you are taking editorship more seriously than most, which will certainly improve the final quality. I think I'll hold off adding a line to the paper pointing to the color image, in case there should be a hitch at the last minute. At some stage I'll write a caption for the color image which points to the paper, hopefully after the page number is known. I'll get the MS back to you shortly. Saludos!
