Dear Mark,

Vatican II, in its constitution on Holy Scripture (sec. 12,
nos 3,4 - see also C.C.C. 112, 1), teaches us: "Be especially
attentive to the content and unity of the WHOLE Scripture"
(emphasis added).

Matt. 26:28 and Mark 14:24 says that Jesus Christ shed his Blood
"for many". Reading these texts in the light of 2nd Corinthians
5:14-15 helps us understand that "many" is equivalent to "all",
for St. Paul writes, "One died for all, therefore all have died.
He indeed died for all ..."

It is therefore correct biblically and theologically to say in
the eucharistic prayer: "(My Blood) will be shed for you and for
all."

Sincerely in Christ,
Father Mateo

- Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit -
